Early September Job Overview Join a promising new concierge primary care practice dedicated to providing personalized, attentive, and high-quality medical care. We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant with strong phlebotomy skills to become the first staff member of our growing practice. Our appointments range from 30 minutes to one hour, creating a calm, unhurried environment where patients expect exceptional service, professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, polished, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. As our first team member, you will play an important role in establishing the patient experience and daily operations of the practice. Responsibilities Welcome patients warmly and provide attentive, concierge-level service throughout their visit. Room patients, obtain medical histories, measure vital signs, and accurately document information in the electronic medical record. Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens for laboratory testing using proper aseptic techniques. Prepare, label, process, store, and coordinate the pickup or delivery of laboratory specimens. Answer incoming telephone calls and communicate with patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner. Send and receive documents securely by email and fax while maintaining patient confidentiality. Coordinate with laboratories, pharmacies, specialists, hospitals, imaging centers, and other medical offices as needed. Prepare and transmit laboratory, imaging, referral, and other medical orders as directed by the provider. Process provider-authorized prescriptions and refill requests within the Medical Assistant's permitted scope of practice. Schedule appointments and assist with other patient communication and administrative needs. Collect patient payments, provide receipts, and accurately record transactions. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked examination and clinical areas. Monitor clinical and office supplies and proactively identify items that need to be reordered. Protect patient privacy and comply with HIPAA requirements and all practice policies. Anticipate the needs of the provider, patients, and practice while helping develop efficient workflows for a new office. Perform additional clinical or administrative duties within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice as assigned. Requirements Prior experience working as a Medical Assistant in a physician's office, primary care practice, or similar clinical setting. Demonstrated proficiency and hands-on experience in venipuncture and blood specimen collection; phlebotomy experience is required . Ability to work independently, take initiative, anticipate needs, and manage responsibilities with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills. Warm, professional, and service-oriented approach appropriate for an upscale concierge medicine setting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and follow-through. Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and general office technology. Ability to communicate professionally by telephone, email, and fax. Experience handling confidential patient information and understanding of HIPAA requirements. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification. Reliable attendance and availability to work the scheduled hours of 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Preferred Qualifications Medical Assistant certification or registration. Phlebotomy certification. Experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or concierge medicine. Experience coordinating referrals, prescriptions, laboratory orders, imaging orders, and medical records. Experience collecting payments and supporting front-office operations. Familiarity with the needs and expectations of adult and older-adult patients.
