This position offers the opportunity to work independently across multiple locations, delivering exceptional patient care while developing your phlebotomy skills in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities

  • Draw blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures to ensure safety and accuracy.
  • Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, verifying that patient demographic information and signatures are correct and properly documented.
  • Maintain a safe and professional environment at all times, adhering to policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Verify patient identity and labeling of specimens to prevent errors, ensuring specimens are correctly identified and documented post-venipuncture.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of collections, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Exhibit leadership behaviors and process excellence while demonstrating sensitivity to confidentiality and accuracy regarding patient information.
  • Travel to multiple locations as needed, including patient service centers and in-office locations, covering shifts that may include weekends, holidays, and overtime.
  • Communicate openly and transparently with patients and team members to promote trust and confidence in every interaction.
  • Exercise good judgment and decision-making based on established procedures, maintaining a high standard of error-free work in a high-volume setting.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to accommodate staffing needs and schedule changes, ensuring timely coverage across various sites. Required Skills
  • Proven phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Ability to perform blood draws safely, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients.
  • Attention to detail in specimen labeling and documentation to prevent errors.
  • Basic keyboard and data entry skills for accurate record keeping.
  • Capacity to handle multiple priorities and adapt to changing environments.
  • Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Additional Skills & Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred; required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
  • 1-3 years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is highly desirable.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.
  • Ability to travel between multiple healthcare sites with reliable transportation.
  • Training may vary based on trainer availability; floaters must be punctual and prepared to cover different sites as scheduled.
