8am -5pm Monday thru Friday Position Overview The ideal candidate will have experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced laboratory or hospital environment while maintaining exceptional patient care and specimen integrity. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles. Collect, label, process, centrifuge, split, freeze, and package specimens according to established procedures. Verify patient information and accurately match specimens with laboratory requisitions. Explain specimen collection procedures to patients in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation. Update patient information and document specimen collection accurately. Perform equipment maintenance and decontamination as required. Ensure compliance with OSHA, DEP, and laboratory safety regulations. Answer phone calls and assist with laboratory-related inquiries. Participate in required departmental training and maintain quality standards. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 6 months of recent phlebotomy experience in a hospital or high-volume laboratory setting. Overall 2-4 years of healthcare/phlebotomy experience preferred. Proficiency in venipuncture using straight and butterfly needles. Experience processing and handling laboratory specimens. Basic Microsoft Office skills. Strong communication and patient care skills. Valid Phlebotomy Certification if required by state regulations.
