Individual Onsite Interview Job Summary The Phlebotomist II is responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients across all age groups, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, at an outpatient medical location. This role involves performing venipuncture, registering patients, maintaining accurate specimen records, and ensuring compliance with laboratory procedures. The candidate will independently manage daily responsibilities while delivering quality patient care and handling approximately 20-30 blood draws per day. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and collect blood specimens from pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Handle approximately 20-30 blood draws daily while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. patients accurately using the designated computer system. Verify patient information and ensure proper specimen identification. Maintain accurate patient manifests, specimen logs, and related documentation. Follow appropriate specimen collection, handling, and processing procedures. Provide professional and patient-centered service throughout the collection process. Ensure compliance with company policies, laboratory procedures, and safety standards. Independently manage daily patient collection and registration responsibilities. Maintain accurate records and address specimen discrepancies as needed. Complete initial system training and adapt to established workflows. Qualifications 2-4 years of diagnostic phlebotomy experience required. High school diploma or equivalent. Hands-on experience performing venipuncture and blood collection. Ability to draw blood from patients of all age groups, including pediatric and geriatric patients. Experience with patient registration and specimen documentation preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently in an outpatient setting. Strong communication and patient service skills. Ability to manage daily patient volume efficiently. Must be comfortable working onsite in Rockville, MD. Must successfully pass the required background check and negative THC screening. No specific phlebotomy certification required.
