Job Description Job Description Job Summary:
Northwest Labs is seeking a dependable and skilled Phlebotomist to join the team at Neurointerventional Pain Management in Allen Park and Monroe, Michigan. You will be responsible for drawing blood from patients, preparing blood and toxicology specimens for medical testing, and ensuring accurate documentation of procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate demeanor, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Experience in a busy or high-volume clinic setting strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to): Travel between the Monroe and Allen Park clinic to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients. Placing intravenous (IV) catheters Label and prepare blood and toxicology specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established protocols. Verify patient information and maintain accurate records of procedures performed. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the blood/tox collection process. Adhere to infection control and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and sterile work environment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate specimen collection and processing. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program AND at least 2 years of work experience in blood drawing. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in specimen labeling and documentation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic laboratory procedures. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working in a healthcare setting. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, experience with Practice Fusion is a plus
