Qualifications & Experience:
Current certification or completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program is required. Proven experience as a phlebotomist in a healthcare or laboratory setting. Proficient in venipuncture, capillary puncture, and special collection techniques for all ages. Solid understanding of laboratory safety standards and infection control protocols. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to diverse patient populations. Ability to accurately label, process, and handle specimens according to clinical guidelines. Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform blood draws and specimen collections with a high degree of accuracy and patient comfort. Verify patient identification and maintain up-to-date, thorough records of all procedures. Prepare and transport samples for laboratory analysis, ensuring integrity and correct labeling. Maintain clean and sterile equipment, workstations, and adhere to all procedural, safety, and quality requirements. Provide excellent communication with patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams regarding procedure explanations and instructions. Assist with inventory tracking and ordering of phlebotomy and laboratory supplies as needed.
