Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Phlebotomy Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will perform blood collection procedures with precision and care, ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining the highest standards of laboratory practice. Your expertise will support accurate diagnostic testing, contributing directly to patient care and treatment plans. Duties Collect blood specimens from patients using venipuncture and capillary techniques, adhering strictly to aseptic procedures Ensure proper labeling, handling, and processing of specimens to maintain integrity and accuracy for laboratory analysis Assist patients by explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing compassionate care during specimen collection Maintain accurate documentation of all procedures in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems, including data entry and patient information updates Monitor patient vital signs when necessary and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions or discomfort during collection Follow laboratory protocols for specimen handling, storage, and transportation to ensure compliance with safety standards Support laboratory staff with routine procedures such as preparing specimens for testing and maintaining cleanliness of work areas Experience Proven experience as a Phlebotomy Technician or in a similar medical laboratory role with hands-on blood collection experience Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician from an accredited organization is required Knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and medical terminology essential for accurate specimen handling Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for efficient data entry and record keeping Experience working in hospital or clinical settings preferred, especially with diverse patient populations including geriatrics and pediatrics Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and blood sampling techniques such as venipuncture and capillary puncture Ability to lift heavy objects safely when handling supplies or specimens and maintain aseptic technique at all times CPR/BLS certification is highly desirable to ensure readiness for emergency situations Join us in delivering exceptional patient care through precise specimen collection and compassionate service.
