This new contract position offers the opportunity to work in a private practice, supporting sample collection studies through precise blood sampling, specimen handling, shipping and data entry. Your dedication to patient service and laboratory procedures will contribute directly to improving health outcomes and scientific understanding. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision, adhering to aseptic techniques and laboratory protocols Collect, process, label, and handle specimens according to established laboratory procedures and safety standards Assist pediatric patients by providing compassionate care and explaining procedures clearly Record patient information, vital signs, and specimen details accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems Maintain specimen integrity through proper handling, storage, and transportation to ensure reliable laboratory testing results Follow laboratory techniques for specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and preparation for testing Support laboratory operations by maintaining cleanliness, organizing supplies, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations Qualifications Certification or training in phlebotomy, with proficiency in venipuncture (blood sampling) and specimen collection of pediatrics Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and laboratory safety practices such as aseptic technique and BLS/CPR certification Familiarity with hospital environments, EMR/EHR systems, data entry processes, and specimen handling protocols Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including pediatrics Knowledge of blood sampling procedures, vital signs measurement, and clinical laboratory standards
