Position Type:
Part-time (approximately 14 hours per week)
Work Schedule:
8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. CST, Two Days per
Week Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapist to provide essential services at Ojibwa Indian School to students with disabilities in compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). The role involves developing and implementing physical therapy programs to enhance students' functional mobility, strength, balance, and motor development, thereby improving their educational performance and access to the school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized physical therapy programs in alignment with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
  • Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify students who may benefit from physical therapy services.
  • Implement plans to improve students' strength, range of motion, endurance, and gross motor skills.
  • Serve as a liaison among the school, students, families, and external health care providers.
  • Maintain detailed service logs and attend IEP meetings.
  • Provide training to school personnel and parents as required.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy from a CAPTE-accredited program.
  • Successful completion of the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE).
  • Current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of North Dakota.
  • Minimum of five years of professional experience as a Physical Therapist, preferably in a school-based setting.
  • Experience working with students with special needs and developing IEPs.
