Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with students in an engaging school-based environment near Mentmore, NM. This position is ideal for experienced Physical Therapists (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistants (PTA) who thrive in educational settings and want to make a difference in young lives.
Qualifications & Experience Sought:
Valid certification and state licensure as a Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Strong knowledge of IEP development and implementation Excellent communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and students Ability to assess, develop, and adjust therapy plans to meet diverse student needs Organized, adaptable, and enthusiastic about working with children of varying abilities
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct evaluations and assessments for students requiring physical therapy intervention Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to support educational goals Collaborate closely with teachers, school staff, and parents to support student progress Document student progress and maintain accurate, confidential records Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to IEP processes Provide direct and consultative therapy services in classrooms and therapy rooms Educate staff and families on adaptive techniques and equipment necessary for student success Working in this setting allows you to foster student independence, promote mobility, and help students achieve their fullest potential within the school environment.
