Job Description
Mercy is seeking a Neuro Physical Therapist to deliver evidence-based rehabilitation for patients with stroke, TBI, spinal cord injury, and other neurologic conditions. In this role, you will perform comprehensive neuro PT evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to optimize mobility, function, and quality of life. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, educate patients and families, and document care using EMR. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive neurologic physical therapy evaluations and functional assessments Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for neuro patients Provide gait training, balance, vestibular, and functional mobility interventions Collaborate with physicians, nurses, OTs, SLPs, and other team members on coordinated care plans Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, mobility strategies, and safety Track and document patient progress, goals, and outcomes in the EMR system Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning, and care conferences Contribute to quality improvement, program development, and best-practice initiatives Supervise or mentor PTAs and students as appropriate Maintain compliance with regulatory, safety, and professional practice standards Required Skills Neurologic physical therapy evaluation and treatment Gait analysis and gait training Balance and vestibular rehabilitation Spasticity and tone management techniques Functional mobility and transfer training Stroke, TBI, and spinal cord injury rehabilitation Therapeutic exercise and neuromuscular re-education Use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Interdisciplinary care coordination and patient/family education
