Job Description

Mercy is seeking an Acute Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based rehabilitation for patients in our acute care setting. You will perform comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to restore function, mobility, and independence. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations for acute care patients Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans Provide post-surgical and complex medical rehabilitation focused on mobility and function Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans Educate patients and families on exercises, safety, and discharge planning Document assessments, goals, and outcomes in the EMR accurately and timely Participate in quality improvement and best-practice initiatives Mentor or support students and new graduates as appropriate Required Skills Acute care physical therapy Patient evaluation and assessment Treatment planning and implementation Post-surgical rehabilitation Neuromuscular re-education Mobility and gait training Cardiopulmonary rehab in acute settings Interdisciplinary care coordination Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Patient and family education
