Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a school-based Physical Therapist for the upcoming school year. In this contract opportunity, you will work across multiple school settings located near Capron and Franklin, VA, partnering with educational teams to promote student mobility and independence. With a focused caseload of fewer than 10 students and just a few hours required per week, this position is designed for flexibility and meaningful one-on-one engagement.
Qualifications:
Active Virginia Physical Therapy (PT) license Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred Ability to adapt strategies to diverse student needs and age groups Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with teachers, families, and multidisciplinary teams Organized and able to manage schedules across several locations
Responsibilities:
Provide physical therapy services to students as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate intervention plans Document progress, maintain accurate session notes, and participate in IEP meetings Recommend and support adaptive equipment as needed to ensure student participation Educate staff and families on strategies that reinforce therapy goals in school and home environments Travel between multiple schools in the area, primarily working with a small, manageable caseload This unique contract position allows you to make a direct difference, working with a compact student group while enjoying a flexible part-time schedule.
