You will be the first point of contact, managing appointments, patient inquiries, and administrative tasks while supporting the clinical team with documentation and medical record management. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in/check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks Schedule appointments efficiently using medical scheduling software, ensuring optimal flow of daily patient visits Collect and process payments, insurance information, and co-pays accurately while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations Manage incoming phone calls with professionalism, providing clear information and directing inquiries appropriately Review and update patient medical records, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and adherence to clinical confidentiality policies Assist clinicians with administrative tasks such as preparing care plans, documenting treatment notes, and coding procedures using CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), and ICD coding standards Maintain organized filing systems for medical records, insurance forms, and correspondence while ensuring compliance with health information management standards Skills Proven experience in medical office administration or as a medical receptionist in a clinical setting, preferably within chiropractic or dental clinics Strong knowledge of EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with electronic health records management is essential Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally and courteously Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for documentation and scheduling purposes Knowledge of health insurance processes including Medicare billing, medical billing practices, CPT coding, ICD coding (ICD-9/10), and understanding of health insurance policies such as HIPAA compliance Ability to perform accurate 10 key typing quickly and efficiently; strong clerical skills including filing and data entry Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively Experience working in a clinic environment with familiarity in medical terminology and clinical confidentiality policies enhances your fit for this role This position is paid and offers an exciting opportunity to develop your career within a supportive healthcare environment.
