Job Description
Full-Time | Rehabilitation Services As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the direction of a Physical Therapist to help patients improve mobility, reduce pain, restore function, and achieve their rehabilitation goals. You'll provide individualized therapy interventions for both inpatient and outpatient populations while collaborating with patients, families, providers, and the rehabilitation team to deliver exceptional care. In this role, you will: Implement physical therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Provide therapeutic exercises, functional mobility training, gait training, balance activities, and other interventions to support patient recovery and independence. Treat patients across a variety of settings and age groups, from pediatrics through geriatrics. Monitor patient progress and communicate treatment results, concerns, and recommendations to the supervising Physical Therapist. Document daily treatment notes, patient responses, and progress accurately within the electronic medical record. Communicate and coordinate with supervising therapists in accordance with Iowa Board of Physical Therapy regulations. Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, mobility techniques, safety recommendations, and home programs. Supervise rehabilitation technicians and other support personnel as appropriate. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. Assist with monitoring insurance authorization limits and treatment utilization. Participate in staff meetings, educational programs, and departmental initiatives. Maintain professional competency through continuing education and licensure requirements. Contribute to a positive, collaborative rehabilitation environment focused on quality patient outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned by the Rehabilitation Director. We're seeking a compassionate and motivated Physical Therapist Assistant who is passionate about helping patients regain function and improve their quality of life. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, team player, and patient advocate. Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program Active Physical Therapist Assistant license through the Iowa Board of Physical Therapy Basic Life Support (BLS) Valid Driver's License No experience required if education and licensure requirements are met Previous experience in inpatient, outpatient, or rehabilitation settings Strong patient care and communication skills Ability to effectively carry out treatment plans directed by a Physical Therapist Excellent organizational and documentation skills Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and customer service Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and abilities Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
