Position Summary We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our skilled nursing facility rehabilitation team. The PTA will work under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide high-quality, evidence-based interventions designed to maximize residents' mobility, function, and independence. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of residents recovering from illness, injury, surgery, or functional decline while working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities Implement treatment plans established by the supervising Physical Therapist Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, balance activities, and functional mobility interventions Monitor and document residents' progress toward treatment goals Communicate effectively with the therapy team, nursing staff, physicians, and families regarding resident status and care needs Ensure documentation meets facility, state, federal, and payer requirements Participate in care planning meetings, discharge planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration Educate residents and caregivers on safety techniques, mobility strategies, and home exercise programs as directed Support the overall rehabilitation goals of the skilled nursing facility with professionalism and compassion Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program recognized by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) Current Iowa Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligibility for Iowa licensure Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team Skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or long-term care experience preferred, but not required Compassionate approach to care with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life Physical Requirements Ability to assist residents with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic activities Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout the workday Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed Why Join Us Comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Paid Time Off (PTO) Life insurance and additional voluntary benefits Flexible scheduling and work-life balance Supportive multidisciplinary team environment Continuing education and professional development opportunities Leadership and advancement potential within our rehabilitation network Realistic productivity expectations Opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents every day Apply Today!
