Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for a detail-oriented, compassionate Clinical Assistant to lead our non-surgical spinal care department. In this role, you will work directly with patients suffering from severe back and neck pain—helping them find lasting relief and avoid invasive surgery through IDD Therapy (Intervertebral Differential Dynamics) and non-surgical spinal decompression. You will be responsible for operating our specialized decompression tables, guiding patients through their custom treatment plans, assisting with supportive therapies, and delivering high-level patient education in a supportive, restorative environment. Key Responsibilities Decompression Table Operation & Patient Prep Set up and adjust IDD Therapy equipment and specialized harnesses tailored to each patient's specific height, weight, and targeted spinal segment (e.g., L4-L5, C5-C6). Program treatment protocols into the decompression system based on doctor orders (angle of distraction, poundage, hold/relax cycles). Safely transition patients onto and off the decompression bed, ensuring maximum physical comfort and precise spinal alignment. Patient Care & Protocol Management Administer complementary pre- and post-decompression modalities (e.g., heat/ice therapy, electrical muscle stimulation, cold laser). Monitor patients throughout their treatment sessions, regularly checking comfort levels and assessing pain scale progress. Coach patients on gentle home care, bracing, posture, and prescribed movement protocols to support the disc healing process. Clinical Flow & Documentation Maintain precise records of treatment parameters, patient tolerance, and daily progress in the clinic's Electronic Health Records (EHR). Maintain clean, sanitized, and well-maintained therapy bays between patient visits. Assist the primary provider with patient intake, range-of-motion assessments, and re-evaluations. Communication & Engagement Serve as a supportive guide for patients undergoing multi-week treatment plans, encouraging consistency and compliance. Answer patient questions about how non-surgical decompression works to relieve disc pressure and improve spinal mobility.
Qualifications & Requirements Experience & Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or Medical Assistant certification preferred). 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting (chiropractic, physical therapy, orthopedics, or spine rehabilitation). Prior hands-on experience with mechanical traction, spinal decompression units (IDD, Triton, Accu-SPINA, or DRX9000), or physical therapy modalities is a strong plus (onsite training provided for specific table protocols).
Skills & Physical Capabilities:
Ability to safely assist and reposition patients who may be experiencing acute pain or limited mobility. Strong technical aptitude for operating medical equipment and software. Warm, empathetic bedside manner with excellent verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a consistent therapy schedule.
