We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our talented therapy team in an acute care rehab hospital. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in implementing individualized treatment plans that incorporate manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and modalities such as trigger point therapy. Conduct clinical assessments and document patient progress accurately in accordance with clinical documentation standards and medical terminology. Operate and maintain medical equipment used in physical therapy treatments, ensuring safety and proper functioning at all times. Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals—including physicians, nurses, and other therapists—to coordinate care plans and discharge strategies. Manage electronic health records efficiently to ensure comprehensive medical documentation and compliance with healthcare regulations. Educate patients and caregivers on therapy techniques, home exercise programs, and safety precautions to promote ongoing recovery outside of clinical settings. Participate in discharge planning processes by assessing patient needs for continued therapy or transition to other care environments such as skilled nursing facilities or home health. Education/Experience Requirements Must have an unencumbered license to practice as a physical therapist assistant in Ohio. Must have
AHA BLS CPR
Certification Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative therapy practices. Experience working both inpatient and outpatient preferred Physical and Sensory Requirements (with and without the aide of mechanical devices) Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day. Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner. Must meet the general health requirements set forth by the policies of this agency which include a mental and physical examination. Must be able to push, pull, move and/or lift a minimum height of three feet and be able to push, pull, move or and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet. Must be able to ambulate a patient weighing 300 pounds up to 400 feet (in accordance with appropriate lifting techniques, with and without the assistance of other personnel).
