  • Position:
  • Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Purpose of Coverage:
  • Addressing a staffing shortage in a high-acuity urgent care setting.
  • Coverage Duration:
  • Immediate start for an initial term of 3 months.
  • Work Environment:
  • Clinical setting.
  • Work Schedule:
  • Variable weekly shifts from Monday to Friday (8 AM
  • 6:30 PM; 9:30 AM
  • 8 PM; 11 AM
  • 10 PM) and weekends (8 AM
  • 6:30 PM or 8:30 AM
  • 7 PM). Weekend availability is mandatory.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver urgent care services for all age groups. Conduct procedures, including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and toenail removal. Handle a diverse caseload typical of urgent care.
  • Experience Requirements:
  • Emergency Room (ER) experience is essential, with a preference for candidates possessing high-acuity urgent care experience. Expected patient acuity levels range from ESI 3 to 5.
  • On-Call Duties:
  • None required.
  • Patient Volume:
  • Anticipated patient flow of approximately 3 patients per hour.
  • Shift Composition:
  • Each shift will include an LPN, RNs, and occasionally MAs, along with the support of 2 Emergency Medicine physicians on-site daily.
  • Electronic Medical Record System:
  • EPIC.
  • Credentialing Timeline:
  • Approximately 60 days from application submission.
  • Certification Requirements:
  • Must be Board Certified. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association.
  • Licensure:
  • Active Colorado state licensure is mandatory.
