Position:
- Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
Purpose of Coverage:
- Addressing a staffing shortage in a high-acuity urgent care setting.
Coverage Duration:
- Immediate start for an initial term of 3 months.
Work Environment:
- Clinical setting.
Work Schedule:
- Variable weekly shifts from Monday to Friday (8 AM
- 6:30 PM; 9:30 AM
- 8 PM; 11 AM
- 10 PM) and weekends (8 AM
- 6:30 PM or 8:30 AM
- 7 PM). Weekend availability is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver urgent care services for all age groups. Conduct procedures, including suturing, incision and drainage, splinting, and toenail removal. Handle a diverse caseload typical of urgent care.
Experience Requirements:
- Emergency Room (ER) experience is essential, with a preference for candidates possessing high-acuity urgent care experience. Expected patient acuity levels range from ESI 3 to 5.
On-Call Duties:
- None required.
Patient Volume:
- Anticipated patient flow of approximately 3 patients per hour.
Shift Composition:
- Each shift will include an LPN, RNs, and occasionally MAs, along with the support of 2 Emergency Medicine physicians on-site daily.
Electronic Medical Record System:
- EPIC.
Credentialing Timeline:
- Approximately 60 days from application submission.
Certification Requirements:
- Must be Board Certified. Certifications required include BLS, ACLS, and PALS from the American Heart Association.
Licensure:
- Active Colorado state licensure is mandatory.
