09/10/2026 Job Description Job Description Apex Interventional Pain Specialists is an advanced, physician-led practice dedicated to delivering minimally invasive, image-guided procedural and surgical solutions for chronic pain. We pride ourselves on providing personalized, outcome-driven care that improves function, reduces pain, and enhances quality of life. We are seeking a Physician Assistant (PA-C) who is enthusiastic, collaborative, and passionate about the evolving field of interventional pain management. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a growing startup clinic , work directly with multiple board certified fellowship-trained interventional pain physicians, and help shape the future of pain care in Maine. Position Overview This part-time position offers a flexible schedule averaging 30hours per week , including two in-office clinic days and additional surgical support in the operating room as needed. The PA-C will participate in both office-based patient care and operative assisting for advanced interventional procedures. Prior surgical or procedural experience is encouraged but not required -we provide a structured onboarding and mentorship program with hands-on training, shadowing, and gradual transition to independent clinic sessions and procedural support. We are a primary interventional practice that does not manage chronic opioid therapy ; our model emphasizes restorative, procedural, and multidisciplinary approaches to pain. Key Responsibilities Clinical & Procedural Support Conduct patient consultations and follow-up visits under physician supervision Perform focused histories, physical exams, and treatment planning for interventional pain patients Assist with operative and interventional procedures at outpatient and partner facilities Prepare and update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and efficiently Educate patients on procedural expectations, post-operative care, and recovery planning Collaborate with the care team to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient experiences Practice Development & Growth Participate in clinical projects, educational initiatives, and quality improvement efforts Support the implementation of new service lines and procedural offerings Contribute to developing evidence-based clinical workflows and patient education materials Engage with referring providers and the community to promote awareness of advanced pain treatments
Qualifications Required:
Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program Current NCCPA certification and active Maine PA license (or eligibility for licensure) Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively within a small, high-performance team Passion for procedural medicine and hands-on learning
Preferred:
