Hills ENT Institute

Physician Assistant in Otolaryngology

Job Description

Hills ENT Institute is seeking a personable, motivated Physician Assistant to join our otolaryngology practice on a part-time basis. This position is ideal for a PA who values meaningful patient relationships, a predictable weekday schedule, clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to develop specialized ENT and office-based procedural skills. The PA will work closely with our physician while independently caring for established patients, particularly during regularly scheduled surgical days. Prior ENT experience is welcome but not required; we are willing to train the right candidate. What You'll Do
  • Long-term follow-up of established patients with chronic ENT conditions
  • Postoperative visits, generally one month or more following surgery
  • Evaluation and management of chronic nasal and sinus complaints
  • Evaluation of ear complaints and cerumen impaction
  • Evaluation of dizziness and vestibular complaints
  • Management of voice, throat, and reflux-related conditions
  • Same-day evaluation of acute ENT complaints
  • Review and management of laboratory, culture, imaging, and diagnostic test results
  • Patient communication, medication management, and coordination of follow-up care
  • Timely and accurate clinical documentation Office-Based Procedures The PA will perform, or receive training to perform, common ENT diagnostic and therapeutic procedures:
  • Diagnostic nasal endoscopy
  • Flexible laryngoscopy
  • Cerumen removal under an operating microscope
  • Routine postoperative examinations
  • Additional procedural and clinical responsibilities may be introduced over time based on experience, demonstrated competency, and interest.
A Position With Room to Grow Initially, the PA will focus primarily on established patients rather than new-patient consultations. This provides time to become familiar with our patient population, clinical approach, and ENT-specific examination and procedures. As experience and proficiency develop, there will be opportunities for greater clinical autonomy, additional office-based procedures, and potentially selected new-patient evaluations. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current or eligible Michigan Physician Assistant license Current NCCPA certification Excellent clinical judgment and communication skills Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with the physician Strong patient-centered approach to care Interest in learning ENT-specific examination and procedural skills Prior ENT experience is not required . Experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, surgery, or another procedural specialty may be particularly applicable. Schedule 16-24 hours per week Weekday hours only Predictable schedule planned around regularly scheduled physician operating days Compensation & Benefits $65
  • 75 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications 40 hours of paid time off annually Employer-provided professional liability (malpractice) coverage Predictable part-time weekday schedule Hands-on training in ENT examination and office-based procedures Opportunity for increasing clinical and procedural responsibility over time Why Hills ENT Institute?
This is an opportunity to become an important clinical member of a specialty practice rather than simply filling a traditional part-time outpatient role. The successful candidate will develop meaningful relationships with an established patient population, gain specialized experience in otolaryngology, develop valuable procedural skills, and have the opportunity to expand their role as their experience within the practice grows.
