The PA practices medicine with physician supervision in an orthopedic urgent care setting including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions. Within physician-advanced practice provider relationship, APPs exercise autonomy in medical decision making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services. May include responsibility for education, research, and administrative services. This is a casual role that will be expected to float to various locations based on needs of Orthopedic Urgent Care locations. This role will provide coverage during the day while also being part of an evening/holiday rotation. Length of shift could vary.

Conducts physical exams, taking medical history, image interpretation and patient evaluation/care.
Consults with physician as needed and refers to physicians for more complicated cases or cases that are not a routine part of an APP's scope of work. Orders diagnostic tests and scans and prescribes medications. Administer injections, participate in suture and dressing removal and manage simple fracture management/cast application and removal. Triages patient calls and evaluates patient problems. Responds to emergencies including use of CPR. Establishes activity and work restrictions and/or return to work plans Counsels patient/family on preventive health care, including pre
and post
operative education.
Documents patient information and care in medical record. Performs other duties as assigned. Summit's hiring range for this position is $54.40 to $168.00 per hour. The hired candidate may be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of bonuses, differentials and/or deferred compensation.
