October 5, 2025 Position Summary The Physician Assistant (PA) is a vital member of Compassion Health Toledo's patient-centered care team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to individuals and families throughout their lifespan. The PA provides direct clinical services, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions, while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care. This role supports the mission and values of Compassion Health Toledo by demonstrating compassion, integrity, and excellence in every patient encounter. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, including health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care. Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures under the supervision of a physician, following established protocols. Document all clinical encounters promptly and accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR). Order and interpret laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic tests. Develop and manage patient treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians and the care team. Instruct and counsel patients on health maintenance, disease prevention, and treatment adherence. Facilitate patient referrals to specialists, agencies, and community resources as needed. Participate in on-call rotation and provide telephone coverage as assigned. Engage in administrative and teaching responsibilities as directed. Maintain compliance with Compassion Health Toledo policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care. Demonstrate commitment to continuous professional growth and learning. Qualifications Graduate of an ARC-PA-accredited Physician Assistant program. Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Ohio. Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. National Provider Identifier (NPI) required. Minimum of one year of experience as a Physician Assistant preferred. Willingness to expand knowledge in women's health, obstetrics, and pediatrics. Skills & Competencies Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in alignment with CHT's mission. Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and diagnostic reasoning skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and team members. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing patient needs and schedules. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Commitment to teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional excellence. Physical Demands & Work Environment Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, and communicate effectively. Occasional lifting or movement of equipment or patients up to 25 pounds. Fast-paced clinical setting requiring sound judgment, compassion, and professionalism.
