Physician Assistant Job Summary a Physician Assistant is a dependent practitioner who practices under the direction and supervision of a physician with clinical privileges that may include assessment of patient, implementation of physician directed treatment plans (including tests, treatments, ordering approved medication, etc.) and performing or assisting physician approved procedure. Demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to care for neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Provides clinical privileges as set forth in the Physician Assistant Clinical Privilege List.
Job Specification Minimum Education Required:
1. Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant School. 2. Graduation from an accredited AMA committee of the allied health program.
Minimum Experience Required:
Licensure/Certification Required:
1. Certification by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Physician Assistant. 2. Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. 3. Maintains current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. Required (must be obtained within 6 months of hire). 4. Must be BLS certified required (or obtain within one month of hire). Skills required (if applicable): 1. Must possess interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and other members of the health care team. 2. Must possess hearing and visual acuity necessary to carry out essential functions of the position. 3. Must adhere to the responsibilities and functions of the Physician Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, State Board Code of Professional and Vocational Standards. 4. Meets criteria for Allied Health Professional status at Indiana Regional Medical Center. Skills required (if applicable): 1. Must possess interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and other members of the health care team. 2. Must possess hearing and visual acuity necessary to carry out essential functions of the position. 3. Meets criteria for Allied Health Professional status at Indiana Regional Medical Center.
