• Duties and Responsibilities :

  1. Serves as the locally recognized authority for administrion of comprehensive clinical medical and physical assessments, and preventive medical services to assigned ANG personnel. Using mastery of and skill in applying professional and clinical Aerospace, Occupional and Preventive Medicine knowledge, practices, principles and theories, the incumbent:
• Works independently and exercises sound judgment in accordance with the methods and practices of the medical profession and established medical/administrive policies affecting the quality and success of key programs essential to ANG readiness.
• Provides inter-disciplinary medical advisory and consultive services; Performs comprehensive medical assessments including, but not limited to, annual preventive health pre
• and post-deployment interviews, mental and deployment health assessments; pre-placement, occupional health, and separion health physical exams; fitness for duty evaluions; fly waiver, line of duty, and medical continuion determinions.
• Coordines with inter-disciplinary teams to gher facts and uses effective analytical and evaluive methods to prepare complex healthcare recommendions.
• Prepares comprehensive narrive summaries by reviewing all comprehensive medical records/referrals; ensuring accuracy, conciseness, and approprieness before forwarding for review by the Nional Guard Bureau (NGB) and the Physical Evaluion Board or approprie Waiver Authority.
• Analyzes and identifies trends in medical assessments through review, comparison, and interpretion against complex medical standards, policies, and laws.
• Provides expert clinical decision making and medical dispositions on a wide range of illnesses and injuries reling to Wing fitness questionnaires; duty limiting condition reports; notificion of Air Force qualificion stus; and fitness for duty determinions:
• Valides approprieness of and adherence to medical care plans, ensuring implemention and compliance through mastery of and skill in applying sound medical judgment for pre
• and post-deployment health, human immunodeficiency virus (can be designed HIV provider), automed neuro psychological, and psychological health assessments; and
• Conducts records review and face to face meetings reling to the Exceptional Family Member Program. 2. Provides Aerospace Medicine support.
• Serves as the fulltime ANG medical expert on all aspects of the Aerospace Medicine Program; assisting the SGP with overall program management and implemention.
• Functionally oversees all programs th fall under the Aerospace Medicine Program including: personnel reliability; Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act; security clearance; overseas clearance; force health protection; force health readiness; psychological health; occupional and environmental health (i.

e., hearing conservion; immunizion; fetal, respirory and radiological protection; ionizing radiion, potable wer quality, hazard communicion, and quantitive fitness testing) programs.

• Evalues and applies critical clinical knowledge and experience to interpret the findings of ancillary studies to the assessments of assigned ANG personnel.
• Thoroughly researches medical documention, evalues complex pient diagnoses, and uses sound judgment when interpreting complex medical standards, codes, guidelines, policies, and regulions to finalize medical recommendions for flying or special duty; line of duty determinions and disability evaluions.
• Utilizes mastery of and skill in applying medical theories, principles, concepts, and practices to interpret laborory and other ancillary tests reled to individual medical readiness, including but not limited to, electrocardiogram, laborory, and radiologic studies.

Interprets guidelines, policies and legislion reling to disease and condition management th is often ambiguous in nure and incorpores into daily work activities to include evidence-based primary, secondary, and tertiary prevention.

• Serves as expert medical advisor to other non-physician providers, nursing, and para-professional staff on the care of pients with urgent, emergent, and non-urgent medical.
• Performs duties in adherence to the compliance of the Privacy, Freedom of Informion, and Health Portability and Accountability Acts which govern the release of medical informion.

3. Actively participes in stregic planning to improve organizional direction as a member of the ANG medical unit leadership. 4. Perform other duties as assigned. : Must possess the experience and training to plan, schedule, execute, manage, and administer installion-wide medical management, which includes aerospace and operional disposition and critical judgment for medical case management to maintain and promote the health and well-being of military and technician personnel.
