Our client in Maine is seeking an Emergency Medicine Physician for a 10-day assignment, beginning Oct 1, 2026. This role involves 8a-8a shifts at a community access hospital, managing a diverse range of acute conditions including respiratory illnesses, stomach pain, chest pain, injuries requiring stitches, broken bones, cold/flu symptoms, substance abuse, and mental health crises. The physician will provide initial stabilization for more severe cases before transfer. Responsibilities and Duties Provide comprehensive emergency care within a community access hospital setting. Evaluate and treat patients presenting with various acute illnesses such as RSV, stomach pain, chest pain, cold, and flu symptoms. Manage traumatic injuries, including suturing lacerations and treating broken bones. Address emergencies related to substance abuse and mental health. Stabilize patients experiencing severe accidents or complex medical needs, preparing them for transfer to a higher level of care.
