Competitive Benefits Package Make a Meaningful Impact in Inpatient Behavioral Health The Columbus Organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to join an interdisciplinary behavioral health team in Bolivar, Tennessee. This opportunity is ideal for a psychiatrist who values collaborative, patient-centered care and wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with complex psychiatric and behavioral health needs. The position offers a consistent Monday-Friday schedule, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM, with the opportunity to serve in a clinical leadership role as part of a multidisciplinary treatment team. Role Summary The Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychiatric care within an acute or sub-acute inpatient behavioral health setting. Serving as a clinical leader of the multidisciplinary treatment team, the Psychiatrist will oversee treatment planning, medication management, admissions and discharges, ongoing clinical assessment, and coordination of care. This role requires a physician who is comfortable working with individuals presenting with complex psychiatric and co-occurring substance use conditions and collaborating closely with other members of the clinical team. Key Responsibilities Serve as the clinical leader of a multidisciplinary treatment team within an acute or sub-acute unit. Conduct psychiatric evaluations, clinical reviews, and routine patient rounds. Provide psychiatric medication management and ongoing assessment of treatment effectiveness. Participate in patient admissions, treatment planning, progress reviews, and discharges. Complete timely and accurate clinical documentation and daily progress notes. Review laboratory results, consultations, and other clinical information and address patient-care needs as appropriate. Collaborate with nursing, behavioral health, medical, and other interdisciplinary professionals. Provide clinical supervision to Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners when applicable. Participate in hospital committees and other clinical initiatives as needed. Utilize electronic clinical records and related healthcare technology effectively. Communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical teams, organizational leadership, and other stakeholders. Required Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical program. Completion of a four-year Psychiatry Residency from an accredited program. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry. Active Tennessee medical license or willingness and ability to obtain Tennessee licensure prior to employment. Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with individuals with complex psychiatric and/or substance use conditions. Strong clinical judgment, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills. Ability to successfully complete required background screening. Preferred Qualifications Experience providing psychiatric care in an inpatient behavioral health setting. Experience working within a multidisciplinary treatment team. Experience providing clinical leadership or supervision to advanced practice providers.
