Job Description

Who We Are Roots & Wings Counseling Associates, LLC (RWCA) provides compassionate, psychodynamic therapy to individuals, couples, and families of color. Our practice was founded in response to the profound shortage of private practices intentionally centering the mental health needs of the BIPOC community. In today's climate, the feeling of "otherness" can be especially acute for people of color--particularly when navigating depression, anxiety, PTSD, racial trauma, relationship stress, and other life challenges. For many, this combination can make the world feel heavy and unbearably demanding. At RWCA, our mission is to promote healing, resilience, and emotional growth by offering a safe, affirming space where clients can develop the skills necessary to manage symptoms and thrive. Guided by our core values of Positivity, Joy, Hope, and Advocacy , we strive to ensure every client feels seen, supported, and empowered in their journey. RWCA currently has openings in our Marblehead location as well as in our virtual practice within MA and NH and is seeking highly skilled, motivated licensed mental health professionals (LCSWs, PhDs, PsyDs, LICSWs, LMFTs, or LMHCs). Our practice offers psychotherapy services across multiple modalities and integrates coaching to enhance self-efficacy and help clients live with clarity, purpose, and confidence . We welcome clinicians who thrive in a collaborative, high-support environment where innovation, shared learning, and community care are core to our work. We are especially seeking clinicians with experience in racial trauma, LGBTQIA+ concerns, addictions, CBT, EMDR, DBT, and strong general therapy skills with a desire to grow in these areas. We are a staff-focused practice committed to professional development and sustainability. RWCA provides a rich array of supports, including customized caseloads, case consultation, peer supervision, and multiple pathways for professional growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical responsibilities include providing individual psychotherapy, developing and implementing treatment plans, maintaining accurate and timely documentation, and attending monthly staff meetings. Clinicians enjoy flexible scheduling and are expected to maintain a minimum of 10 appointments per week. RWCA provides comprehensive administrative support, including credentialing, referrals, initial appointment scheduling, office maintenance and associated expenses, billing, and accounting services. There are also opportunities for clinicians interested in contributing beyond traditional therapy services. We recently launched a monthly client newsletter featuring wellness themes, reflection prompts, and brief mental well-being challenges, which we hope to expand into a more structured initiative. We are also growing our social media presence and developing projects in collaboration with local organizations and community initiatives, including GLAAD-related programming, Juneteenth celebrations, and other local ventures. Roots & Wings Counseling Associates, LLC is deeply committed to anti-racism, equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive care. Because we primarily serve people of color and members of historically marginalized communities, we value clinicians whose lived experiences, professional backgrounds, and values help them understand, affirm, and effectively support the communities we serve. We are seeking someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and ready to help us advance this vision and mission --both within the therapy room and throughout the broader community. RWCA is an equal opportunity employer, and clinicians who represent the rich diversity of our client population are strongly encouraged to apply. Our practice is positioned for continued growth and innovation, making this an exciting time to join our team.
