Qualifications:

Certified by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education as a School Psychologist.

Current knowledge of special education regulations regarding disabilities.

Current knowledge of assessment and eligibility.

Commitment to and advocacy for the education of all students.

Possess computer literacy skills necessary to manage data.

Possess solid oral and written communication skills..

Possess a professional and personal history which is exemplary and supported with references.

Be physically and emotionally able to fulfill responsibilities and duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct and interpret formal and informal assessments of students, including, but not limited to diagnostic psychological, educational, transition, functional behavioral assessments and observations for initial eligibility, reevaluations, manifestation determination and other meetings as determined by the Special Services Director.

Write diagnostic psychological and educational reports based on assessment results and provide recommendations for consideration at initial eligibility, reevaluations, manifestation determination and other meetings as assigned by the Special Services Director or Principal.

Coordinate with other service providers, in order to efficiently complete all initial and reevaluation assessment batteries in a timely manner to ensure compliance with all state and federal laws, guidelines, and regulations

Attend and participate in team meetings to report findings and assist in making recommendations for student services and IEP implementation.

Maintain confidentiality, with regard to student issues and interactions, while sharing information with appropriate individuals as authorized.

Other duties as assigned by the Special Services Director or Principal.
