Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students' well-being in a dynamic school setting near Havre De Grace and Elkton, MD. This position offers the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of elementary or middle school students while working collaboratively with educators and families.
Key Qualifications:
Valid MSDE School Psychologist Certification Experience with psychoeducational evaluations Familiarity working with elementary or middle school populations Strong communication and counseling skills Comfortable participating in multidisciplinary meetings (MTTS, IEP, 504) Ability to manage an active caseload (typically around 70 evaluations plus counseling responsibilities) Preference given to professionals available for in-person work
Role Responsibilities:
Complete comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to support student learning plans Provide individual and group counseling services as needed Participate actively in MTTS, IEP, and 504 meetings, contributing to intervention and support strategies Collaborate with teachers, families, and administrators to develop and implement student interventions Maintain thorough records of services provided and outcomes Engage with diverse student needs in a flexible, supportive environment This contract position is set to begin as soon as possible and will run tentatively through June 12, following a Monday to Friday schedule. Hours are 8:15 am to 3:45 pm for elementary settings or 7:30 am to 3:00 pm for secondary. The caseload is variable and responds to referrals; a district-provided laptop ensures you have the necessary technology for the role.
