School Psychologist - Alexander, NY

Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a district-wide school psychologist for a K-12 setting, serving approximately 720 students, including 150 with IEPs. You'll start as soon as possible, with summer hours available prior to the academic year—school officially begins on September 2. This pivotal position entails both full-time hours and robust full-time benefits, offering the chance to make a tangible impact across multiple campuses as part of a dedicated student services team.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid School Psychologist certification/licensure for New York State Experience supporting K-12 students across a range of educational settings Strong background in psychological assessment, intervention planning, and progress monitoring Extensive knowledge of IEP development and special education processes Effective communicator committed to collaborating with staff, students, and families Proven ability to manage a diverse caseload while maintaining meticulous documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive psychoeducational evaluations and re-evaluations across grade levels Interpret assessment results, develop recommendations, and participate actively in IEP meetings Deliver counseling, consultation, and crisis intervention for students with diverse needs Guide staff and families on behavioral supports, intervention strategies, and student accommodations Serve as a resource for compliance, best practices, and legal requirements within the special education framework Support a positive, inclusive school climate through data-driven advocacy and mental health initiatives This role offers the chance to begin supporting students and collaborating with educators even before the school year starts.
