We are a special education preschool program in Mineola, NY seeking a full time School Psychologist. Candidate must have a Master's degree in School Psychology and Certification in School Psychology. Please have experience working with the preschool population in an interdisciplinary setting with teachers and related service staff.

Essential functions include:

• Provide comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services to preschool students enrolled at ICCD, employing evidence-based approaches and techniques. Conduct thorough evaluations when applicable to assess students' developmental and therapeutic needs. Implement services in strict adherence to Individualized Education Program (IEP) mandates. Maintain and acknowledge receipt of each student's current IEP, reviewing it prior to service implementation. Develop Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP) and conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) as necessary to address challenging behaviors. Perform all essential functions related to IEP implementation and documentation, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records are maintained. Communicate regularly with parents/primary caregivers, providing updates on their child's progress toward goals. Conduct parent workshops and training sessions to empower families with effective strategies for home follow-up. Collaborate closely with classroom and therapy staff to effectively address students' therapy needs. Serve as a consultant to support teachers and therapists, offering guidance on individualized therapy plans and interventions. Generate all necessary written documentation in a timely manner, including annual related services progress reports, contemporaneous daily session notes, attendance records, contact notes, and other relevant materials. Actively participate in team meetings, department meetings, and staff meetings to contribute to a collaborative and cohesive work environment. Deliver comprehensive in-service training sessions to staff members, focusing on play therapy techniques and childhood development. Engage in discussions with caregivers or CPSE administrators regarding changes in therapy recommendations only after consulting with the team, clinical director, and program director. Provide guidance in implementing program-wide policies on behavior management and behavior intervention strategies in consultation with classroom and therapy staff.
