Job Description

The Psychological Forensic Assistant supports licensed forensic psychologist in the evaluation, assessment, and documentation of individuals involved in legal proceedings. This role involves conducting clinical research, preparing case reports, assisting with psychological testing, and managing case files in both civil and criminal contexts.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the administration and scoring of psychological tests under supervision. Compile case histories, review legal and medical records, and summarize relevant information. Observe forensic interviews and take detailed notes for evaluations. Draft and proofread forensic reports, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and adherence to ethical standards. Contribute to expert witness preparation. Coordinate appointments, maintain client confidentiality, and manage documentation. Communicate with attorneys, correctional institutions, and court personnel as directed. Support research and data collection for ongoing forensic or academic projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Criminology, or related field. Previous experience or internship in forensic or clinical psychology settings is an asset. Strong knowledge of psychological assessment tools and their application. Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. High level of discretion and commitment to confidentiality and ethical practice. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
