Job Description

Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP)

The LSSP will provide psychological services for the LPISD student population. Psychological services are inclusive of assessment to determine conditions of Emotional Disturbance, Autism, and Other Health Impairment (Behavioral/Social/Emotional Disorders). The LSSP is available for consultation as well as direct services with students who are experiencing severe behavioral difficulties in school resulting in academic failure. The LSSP will also consult with teachers and administration regarding student behavior/social/emotional concerns and act as a liaison between LPISD, community based agencies such as residential facilities, private schools, and behavioral centers.

Job Qualifications:

Master's Degree in School Psychology or related field from an accredited college or university

Valid Texas License as a Specialist in School Psychology granted by the Texas Board of Examiners of Psychologists

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Skill in the use of tests and measurements for assessing intellectual, academic and behavior disorders

Knowledge of evaluations, interventions, strategies and counseling services for social, emotional and behavioral disorders

Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to travel to multiple work locations as assigned

Other Information:

The District contributes $400/month to the cost of employee-only health insurance, which is $175/month greater than the state required amount of $225/month

Minimum $70,549

Midpoint $84,030

$6,300 Critical Shortage Stipend
