Job Description

West Valley Medical Center is seeking a skilled Imaging Technologist to join our PRN team in Healthcare & Medical Services. In this role, you will perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging results. You'll collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to deliver exceptional patient care. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures according to physician orders and department protocols Verify patient identity, review orders, and obtain pertinent history to ensure appropriate imaging and patient safety Position patients correctly and operate imaging equipment to produce optimal diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure Monitor patients during procedures, recognizing and responding to changes in condition, especially in emergency and acute care settings Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and clarify exam requirements Utilize electronic medical records to document procedures, patient information, and imaging details accurately and in a timely manner Educate patients and families on imaging procedures, addressing questions and ensuring comfort and understanding Maintain imaging equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner, reporting malfunctions promptly Adhere to all hospital, departmental, and regulatory guidelines, including radiation safety, infection control, and patient privacy standards Participate in ongoing professional development, training, and competency assessments to support high-quality care and personal growth Provide flexible PRN coverage, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support department staffing needs Required Skills Operation of radiologic and/or CT imaging equipment Patient positioning and radiation safety Image quality assessment and optimization Electronic medical record (EMR) documentation Venipuncture and IV contrast administration (if applicable) Infection control and standard precautions Effective communication with patients and clinical teams Time management in a fast-paced acute care environment Critical thinking and problem-solving in emergent situations Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and radiographic pathology
