Position Summary:

The Radiology Technologist/Medical Assistant will assist providers with patient care while performing clinical, radiologic, and administrative tasks to ensure a smooth workflow within the clinic. This role is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-ray and CT, to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and proficiency with clinical and radiologic equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Obtain and document patient vitals, medical history, and symptoms. Prepare and position patients for examinations and imaging procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety. Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments. Perform routine and special radiographic exams, ensuring high-quality images are obtained in a timely manner. Operate radiology equipment, ensuring proper functioning and adherence to safety standards. Administer medications and vaccinations as directed. Perform basic lab tests and specimen collection. Review and verify patient information and order accuracy before proceeding with imaging. Maintain clean and organized exam rooms and accurate patient records. Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals. Maintain patient confidentiality and uphold HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide excellent patient care. Adhere to radiation safety protocols and regulations and report equipment malfunctions as needed.

Essential Skills and Abilities:

Strong communication and patient interaction skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical setting. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems. Strong knowledge of radiologic procedures and equipment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Active certification or eligible to sit for exam as a Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). State licensure as required by Kansas. At least 1 year of experience in a clinical setting preferred. Current CPR certification required or willing to obtain upon hire.
