Lead CT Scan Technologist

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing inventory of radiologic supplies, ensures the radiologic equipment is in good working order, and adheres to establish guidelines on hygiene and infection control. Monitors patients throughout the scanning procedure to identify and respond to any allergic reactions to the contrast agents. Utilizes computerized tomography scanners to produce cross-section images of patient's internal organs and tissues for diagnosis of medical issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Operates head or body x-ray scanners which create a computer generated cross-sectional image, commonly called a CAT (Computed Axial Tomography) Scan. 2. Responsible for educating and preparing patients for their examinations. 3. Performs and Provides treatments that follow State, Federal and professional standards. 4. Responsible for all ED and outpatient operations on shift. Participates in staff scheduling and performance reviews. 5. Provides patient care that is essential to the performance of a variety of procedures. 6. Determines and set appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology. 7. Responsible for the safety, mental and physical comfort of patients. 8. Takes patient medical history before an exam. 9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent. CT registered through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Minimum (3) three years of experience in a related field.
Preferred:
Bachelor's or associate's degree in radiologic technology. C.T. Tech certified preferred. CPR and BLS certification preferred. Minimum (5) five years of experience in a related field. #LI-AM1
