Job Description

Produce a variety of high-quality radiographs through proper positioning and technique Administer contrast media using proper technique and according to department policy Utilize assigned functions with the Radiology Information System to complete paperwork and to document contrast media reactions Utilize the hospital computer system to enter radiology and laboratory orders, charges, and/or credits Review patient's chart for confirmation of physician's orders and follows written and/or verbal protocols and instructions Follow department, NRG, and State policies and regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure "ALARA" Educate the patient, and family when necessary, regarding the exam, treatment, and outcome Performing visual preventative safety inspections and report dangerous department or equipment conditions to the appropriate personnel Communicate equipment malfunctions and low inventory levels to appropriate supervisor Performing procedures as the schedule requires and rotate call Performing other duties as assigned Adhere to the Service Excellence Standards and Expectations at Chesapeake Regional Medical Center Exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers Exhibit courteous communication skills and an ability to work with others, exercising good judgment in performance of job duties Demonstrate courtesy, compassion, and respect to others in adherence of the hospital's philosophy and policy for promoting positive workplace and customer environments Work as a team to continuously improve work quality. Confirm patient identification prior to procedure by verbal confirmation on outpatients and identification band on in-patients Attend required hospital-wide orientations, meetings, and in-services Present self in a positive manner as reflected by personal attire and etiquette Demonstrate a commitment to flexible work scheduling, when necessary, to ensure patient care Reports to: The Operations Manager, though may also receive work from Radiologists, the Administrative Director of Radiology, and the

Graduate of an accredited program in radiologic technology
Preferred Education:
N/A Experience:
Previous experience as a registered technologist is preferred, but will accept a new graduate Technical/other training or better in General Studies.
