Job Description

Radiology Technologist at SSM Health performs high-quality diagnostic imaging exams in a patient-centered environment. Working within our Catholic, not-for-profit health system, you will safely operate radiographic equipment, follow radiation protection standards, and support accurate diagnoses for diverse patient populations. Responsibilities include patient preparation, positioning, image acquisition, and documentation in the EMR, while collaborating closely with radiologists and nursing teams. Responsibilities Perform diagnostic radiographic imaging procedures following physician orders and established protocols Position and prepare patients, explaining procedures and ensuring comfort and safety Operate, calibrate, and maintain radiologic equipment, adhering to radiation safety standards Verify patient identity, review medical history, and ensure accurate documentation in the EMRCollaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely, accurate diagnoses Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards Monitor images for diagnostic quality and repeat studies only when clinically necessary Participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and compliance with regulatory standards Required Skills Diagnostic radiography Patient positioning and care Radiation safety and ALARA practices Operation of radiologic equipment PACS image management Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation Infection prevention and control Anatomy and radiographic pathology knowledge Venipuncture/basic IV contrast support (if applicable) Communication and teamwork in clinical settings
