Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Activities Director to lead engaging and meaningful recreational programs within our senior living community. Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and implement a diverse calendar of resident-centered activities, including events, outings, and therapeutic programs tailored to individual needs and interests. Lead recreational therapy sessions that support cognitive health, memory care, and physical activity for residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, or other age-related conditions. Build strong rapport with residents by understanding their preferences, histories, and abilities to personalize activities that foster engagement and joy. Collaborate with staff members across departments to ensure activities align with care plans and support residents' overall well-being. Manage scheduling logistics for events, coordinate volunteers or staff assistance as needed, and ensure all activities run smoothly and safely. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, feedback, and progress to continually refine program offerings. Communicate effectively with residents' families about upcoming events and resident participation to promote transparency and involvement. Qualifications Proven experience in event planning within assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or senior care environments. Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory support programs, and geriatric health issues. Prior experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities in long-term care or home & community care settings. Strong skills in recreational therapy techniques and program development tailored for older adults. Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly with residents, families, and team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for record keeping and scheduling management. Demonstrated leadership abilities in team coordination and volunteer management. Familiarity with aging issues counseling, assisting with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), and schedule management is highly desirable. Pay:
