In this vital role, you will create a vibrant, supportive environment by developing and coordinating diverse recreational, social, and therapeutic activities tailored to the unique needs of seniors. Your enthusiasm and leadership will foster a sense of community, promote well-being, and ensure residents experience joy, purpose, and connection every day. Duties Design, implement, and oversee a variety of engaging programs that promote socialization, cognitive stimulation, physical activity, and emotional well-being for residents. Coordinate resident events such as outings, celebrations, educational workshops, and recreational activities to foster community involvement. Collaborate with care teams to develop personalized activity plans that address individual needs related to Alzheimer's care, dementia, memory care, and geriatrics. Build strong rapport with residents through meaningful interactions, understanding their preferences, histories, and interests. Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent participation while accommodating residents' health status and mobility levels. Lead a team of activity staff or volunteers by providing training, guidance, and motivation to deliver high-quality programming. Maintain detailed records of resident participation, program outcomes, and feedback to continually improve offerings. Skills Proven experience in event planning within senior living or assisted living environments. Strong background in assisted living or nursing home settings with knowledge of long-term care practices. Expertise in Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care programs, and recreational therapy techniques. Excellent communication skills for engaging residents and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and scheduling purposes. Ability to develop innovative programs tailored to seniors' interests and abilities while fostering resident rapport building. Leadership skills necessary for supervising staff or volunteers effectively in a team environment. Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs within geriatric populations. Knowledge of aging issues counseling and social work principles relevant to senior care environments. Strong organizational skills for managing schedules, coordinating events, and maintaining accurate records.
