Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dynamic Person and Recreation Director to lead our community engagement and recreational activities. This vital role involves overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of diverse events and programs that promote wellness, fun, and social connection. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality and recreation management, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a key team leader, you will foster a vibrant environment that encourages team development, ensures safety standards are met, and elevates the overall quality of our recreational offerings. Duties Direct daily operations of the Parks and Recreation Department and supervise department staff Manage public parks, playgrounds, ball fields, swimming pool operations, recreation facilities, and seasonal programs Prepare and monitor the department budget, expenditures, revenues and financial records. Develop and implement department policies, procedures, goals, and recreation programs. Coordinate facility use, community activities, special events, leagues, volunteer programs and contract services Research and apply for grants and work with community groups, agencies, city and county officials, and the governing board. Maintain safe facilities and keep current with trends, regulations, and best practices in parks and recreation. Requirements Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Minimum of two (2) years of progressive experience administering and supervising recreation programs Knowledge of budgeting, recreation planning, facility maintenance, supervision, public recreation programs, and government funding and regulations. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, decision-making, and public relations skills. Eligible for certification as a Certified Park and recreation Professional (CPRP) Valid Tennessee Driver's License required
Pay:
$50,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
