In this vital role, you will provide compassionate, high-quality nursing services across diverse settings, including acute care, long-term care, outpatient clinics, and specialized units. Your skills will support patient assessments, medication administration, wound care, and health education, ensuring optimal outcomes for individuals of all ages and needs. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, catheterizations, and other methods following aseptic techniques and safety protocols. Manage complex patient care plans across various specialties including geriatrics, pediatrics, behavioral health, trauma medicine, and hospice & palliative care. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to develop discharge planning strategies and ensure seamless continuity of care. Conduct diagnostic evaluations such as laboratory specimen collection, phlebotomy, and diagnostic imaging procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable. Provide emergency response interventions including airway management, acute pain management, trauma care at Level I or Level II trauma centers, and critical care procedures in ICU or PICU settings. Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations and ensure compliance with NCQA standards and ICD coding requirements (ICD-9/10). Skills Proven experience working with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks to document patient interactions accurately. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to diverse clinical environments. Skilled in IV insertion, catheter care (including ostomy management), suturing techniques, and sterile processing procedures. Expertise in managing patients with complex needs such as those requiring dialysis, ventilator support, tube feeding, or infectious disease care. Familiarity with specialized areas including cardiac catheterization procedures, telemetry monitoring, neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), trauma medicine protocols, and occupational health standards. Ability to perform physical examinations and assessments for patients across age groups—children to seniors—especially in geriatrics and dementia/dementia-related conditions like Alzheimer's disease or dementia care. Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education on health coaching topics like pain management or nutrition, and case management activities.
