Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) |

CONTRACT

Job Summary The Operating Room Registered Nurse directs patient care and maintains a safe, sterile environment during surgical procedures. They develop individualized care plans, coordinate with cross-functional surgical teams, and supervise unit personnel to ensure high-quality patient outcomes, proper equipment readiness, and strict adherence to aseptic standards.

13 Weeks | 36 hours per week

Shift:

12-Hour Varied Shifts (07:00

•19:30), includes weekends/holidays

On-Call:

1 shift/week (19:30

•07:00, immediately following a scheduled shift)

EMR Used:
CERNER What You'll Do Patient Assessment & Care Planning:

Conduct thorough assessments using patient interviews, diagnostics, and physician consultation to construct and adapt individualized intraoperative care plans.

Sterile Field & Safety Management:

Supervise the assigned OR unit, establish and maintain strict asepsis, and ensure overall patient safety throughout the surgical process.

Surgical Anticipation:

Prepare necessary equipment and supplies prior to cases, anticipate physician and patient needs, and respond rapidly to emergent changes in patient status.

Interdepartmental Collaboration:

Direct and coordinate with ancillary personnel and surgical teams to deliver high-quality, continuous care.

Continuous Evaluation:

Monitor outcomes, reassess unresolved clinical issues, and effectively communicate revised care plans to the team.

Requirements & Qualifications License:

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License required.

Certifications:

AHA BLS and

AHA ACLS

required.

Experience:

Minimum of 2 years of intraoperative/OR experience required.

Surgical Proficiency:

Strong comfort level with Orthopedics (Arthrex, DePuy, Synthes), General Surgery, and ENT procedures.

Preferred Experience:

Cerner EHR and CNOR certification. Ability to work effectively with patients, peers, physicians, and ancillary departments.
