96 Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and adaptable Travel Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will provide critical nursing care in diverse emergency settings across various locations, ensuring rapid assessment, intervention, and stabilization of patients experiencing urgent health issues. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in fast-paced environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, hospitals, and urgent care facilities, delivering exceptional patient care while maintaining compliance with healthcare standards and protocols. The ideal candidate will possess extensive emergency medicine experience, proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner, and a comprehensive understanding of critical care procedures. Duties Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history reviews to determine urgency levels. Administer medications, including IV infusions and botulinum toxin treatments, following precise protocols to manage acute pain and other emergent conditions. Perform advanced procedures such as suturing, catheterization, airway management, and sterile processing techniques. Utilize EMR/EHR systems efficiently to document patient encounters accurately while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with complex needs such as infectious diseases, trauma injuries, or developmental disabilities. Manage triage processes effectively to prioritize care based on severity and resource availability. Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding treatment options, discharge instructions, and follow-up care. Maintain readiness for critical care scenarios including neonatal resuscitation procedures, trauma medicine interventions, and ICU protocols. Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed to prevent cross-contamination in high-acuity settings. Assist in discharge planning by coordinating with case management teams for post-acute care or long-term support services. Qualifications Valid RN license with current state registration; additional certifications such as BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) are required. Extensive emergency room experience within hospital settings; experience working in Level I or Level II trauma centers is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems including Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, or similar platforms. Demonstrated expertise in critical care procedures such as ventilator management, tube feeding administration, and laboratory specimen collection. Knowledge of
ICD-9/ICD-10
coding standards for accurate documentation and billing processes. Experience working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, behavioral health cases, and individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA compliance. Ability to adapt quickly to new environments while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
