MidState Medical Center, part of Hartford HealthCare, seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, evidence-based care on our acute care units. The RN will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient-centered care for diverse adult populations, collaborating closely with physicians, therapists, and support staff. Responsibilities include medication administration, IV therapy, monitoring patient status, coordinating discharges, and educating patients and families. RNs contribute to quality and safety initiatives, mentor peers, and uphold our compassionate, team-oriented culture focused on exceptional outcomes for central Connecticut residents. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adult acute care patients. Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments safely and accurately following hospital protocols. Continuously monitor patient status, respond to changes, and escalate concerns to providers promptly. Document care, assessments, and patient responses in the EMR in a timely and accurate manner. Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge plans. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to coordinate care. Participate in quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives on the unit. Maintain infection prevention standards and ensure a clean, safe care environment. Support and mentor new nurses and students as part of a collaborative team culture. Communicate effectively and respectfully with diverse patients, families, and colleagues.
