Legal Nurse Case Reviewer (Part-Time) It's the details that matter! ShimSpine is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented Nurse Case Reviewer to join our team. You will use our patented, industry-leading software application to analyze medical records and develop high-quality case summaries and chronologies for a variety of clients. Our ideal candidate brings deep specialty experience in orthopaedics and/or neurosurgery, combined with a strong foundation in nursing, medical terminology, treatments, and standards of care. Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibility to review medical and legal documentation/records associated with the development of a medical chronology to provide written case summaries and analysis.
Review, extract, and analyze complex medical data.
Evaluate the appropriateness of treatments provided.
Assist with refining and improving processes associated with reviewing cases.
Audit work of other team members.
Collaborate with other team members, physicians, and clients to develop a high-quality work product. Requirements and Qualifications
Active Florida nursing license required.
Minimum of 5 years of direct patient care experience specifically in Orthopaedics and/or Neurosurgery, gained across more than one clinical environment (e.
g., hospital inpatient settings, ER and specialty physician office/clinic settings are ideal). Hospital med-surg experience alone is generally insufficient. Experience in rehab facilities or home health nursing is also insufficient and not really applicable to the orthopaedic/neurosurgical knowledge needed for this role.
Experience in the ER, surgery, or additional neurology/neurosurgery related areas is highly desirable.
Able to consistently meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Word, Google tools, and various software programs; excellent typing skills.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medications, common procedures, and surgeries—particularly in orthopaedic and neurosurgical contexts.
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
Must be a team player with strong communication skills and a commitment to quality improvement.
Willingness to continually learn new medical knowledge, concepts, and serve as a strong contributor/leader on the team.
Ability to sit/stand for long durations daily.
This is an onsite position. No remote work. Only candidates who meet the above qualifications, particularly the orthopaedic/neurosurgery experience requirements, are encouraged to apply.
