The nurse will monitor maternal-fetal status, manage high-acuity situations, and collaborate closely with obstetricians, neonatologists, and a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include critical assessments, medication administration, patient and family education, and participation in emergencies. Responsibilities Provide specialized nursing care to high-risk obstetric and perinatal patients Continuously monitor maternal and fetal status and respond to complications Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and protocols Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to plan and deliver care Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and postpartum care Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EHRParticipate in emergency obstetric situations and rapid response events Follow infection control, safety, and quality standards and protocols Precept, mentor, and support newer nurses and staff as needed Engage in ongoing professional development and quality improvement initiatives Required Skills High-risk obstetric nursing Maternal-fetal assessment and monitoring Electronic fetal monitoring (EFM) Neonatal stabilization and care IV therapy and medication administration Emergency response in obstetrics (e.g., preeclampsia, hemorrhage) Electronic health record (EHR) documentation Patient and family education Infection control and safety protocols Interdisciplinary care coordination
