Your Impact As a Surgical Services RN , you'll be the patient's advocate during surgery—providing support, coordination, and oversight throughout each procedure. You'll work alongside surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical techs to ensure every step is performed with safety, precision, and compassion. Core Responsibilities Pre-Operative duties Completes all pre-operative documentation Prepares patient for surgical/procedural environment Ensures consents are completed prior to transfer to Intraoperative environment Intraoperative duties Operating room set up with equipment and supplies needed for surgery/procedure Ensures compliance with Operating room pertaining to Surgical sharp and sponge counts, Laser Safety, Radiation Safety, and facility dress code. Ensures compliance with H&P, wrist band application, completed laboratory studies prior to entrance in Operating room Advocates for patient within Operating room Positions patient ensuring safety and pressure reduction Completion of assessments per facility policies Completion of documentation per facility policies Post-Operative duties Care of patient within

environments ensuring patient safety at all times while adhering to facility policies. Completes all Post-operative documentation Completes hand-off to Acute Floor Nurse when appropriate Delivers patient care using the nursing process Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and care center's philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations. Resolves patient/resident problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies. The circulating nurse interacts effectively with physicians as an advocate of patient care. Sets priorities for nursing care based on the care plan and delivers care in a timely manner. Effectively demonstrates the ability to delegate appropriately as guided by policy and Idaho Board of Nursing. Demonstrates the ability to use critical thinking skills within the nursing profession. The circulator is the patient's guardian in the operating room. The circulator will perform accurate recording, interpretation and response to the data present during the operation. Ability to perform technical tasks and procedures safely and accurately The RN successfully completed the performance standards inclusive of the yearly competencies for the primary area. Follows all National and facility standards for safe medication administration and security using resources available and critical thinking skills. Effectively assists in the orientation of new employees when requested. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Assumes the role of patient advocate. Actively observing and carefully watching for any unintended or unanticipated events that could compromise the patient. Call This role is expected to have rotating call; you must be able to report to the hospital within 30 minutes of receiving the call.

Work Environment:

This position is based in a hospital setting and involves frequent walking throughout the facility. Potential exposure to infectious illnesses, blood, bodily fluids, latex and sterilization chemicals. Physical and mental readiness to work extended hours and respond to emergent situations.

Required:

Must be a registered licensed nurse in the State of Idaho Certifications that must be maintained throughout employment Peri-op 101 within 1 year

Operating room experience
