As an Outpatient Oncology Registered Nurse, you support patients in a clinic setting through telephone triage, medication refills, chemo tracking, and direct care such as labs, port management, and IV hydration. You assess, plan, and evaluate care, monitor patient conditions, update EHR documentation, and collaborate with the care team. You also uphold safety standards, participate in quality initiatives, and may float to other units as patient needs change. Responsibilities Provide outpatient clinic support including telephone triage, medication refills, chemotherapy tracking, and direct care such as labs, port management, and IV hydration. Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, engaging patients and families across the care continuum. Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to influence care outcomes. Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely according to clinical protocols and document accurately in the EHR. Participate in unit councils, professional governance, quality initiatives, and uphold a strong culture of safety. Delegate appropriately to LPNs and unlicensed assistive personnel while providing guidance and oversight. Maintain required certifications, pursue ongoing professional development, and adhere to the ANA Code of Ethics. Float to other units or departments within the service area as needed to meet patient care demands.
